Walnut drop front "Bargueno" or "Varugeno" desk from Spain, circa 1780. The two-piece cabinet has hand wrought iron handles on the sides and a lock on the front for ease while traveling. The front opens like a secretary to expose two doors and twelve drawers, good for originally storing documents and important family possessions, but today is good for documents and other heirlooms. This cabinet is highly useful and is in very good condition with a beautiful rich walnut patina.
